Peace And Non Violence Kuala Lumpur
Dear Friend,
The World March for Peace And Non Violence Kuala Lumpur (WMKL) is the Malaysian leg of the first-ever World March that will travel the world starting from 2nd October 2009 - the anniversary of Gandhi’s birth - in New Zealand to 2nd January 2010 in Argentina, asking for the end of wars, the dismantling of nuclear weapons and for an end to all forms of violence - physical, economic, racial, religious, cultural, sexual and psychological.
This will be a symbolic March to unite people of all sectors of the population, who aspire for peace and a better World. The event aims to create consciousness and public awareness for the urgent need for Peace, and to create a "culture of non-violence" in order to establish and sustain real peace.
5 Non-Government Organizations - NurSalam, The Women's Aid Organization, Voice of the Children, SPCA Selangor and World Without Wars - and the restaurant group Maxim Image are getting together for this cause and have given birth to a cultural street festival to celebrate the arrival of the World March in KL, Malaysia on the 10th of October 2009, from 6pm onwards at Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar, KL.
